The Men of Mexilog Fest 2024 - pt. 1
July 4, 2024It’s the Men’s turn to shine. MexilogFest 2024 was held this year in Mazatlàn at a left-hand pointbreak called Los Pinos. Located in the southern part of town on a little stretch of beach. The contest was held on May 18th to May 25th 2024. 11 days of surfing, camaraderie, and having fun at the beach and at night in the various events organized by Israel Preciado (the contest mastermind). We had 70 competitors for the Men’s Heats. An array of different ethnicities and cultures decorated the beach. Along with of course the Mexican locals and nationals that were also invited to the event. These first days were spent by me getting a handle on the scene and making sure I photographed every heat from the first round to ensure I captured every competidor. I also scouted for the best angles to capture the surf from land with my 200-500 mm Nikon Lens. Part 2 coming tommorow.
